Terms of Service

Welcome to KDPScout. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the KDPScout Chrome browser extension, the kdpscout.com website, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

KDPScout is a Chrome browser extension for Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) publishers that provides book market analytics — including BSR data, marketplace comparisons, competitor tracking, and curated profitable title picks — to help you research and grow a self-publishing business.

2. Account Terms

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• One account per user. Creating multiple accounts to bypass plan limits is prohibited.
• A valid email address is required to sign up and to receive account-related notifications.
• One active device per account at a time. Signing in on a new device will sign you out of the previous one.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Free Plan & Pro Plan

KDPScout offers a Free plan with limited monthly usage of core features so you can fully evaluate the product before paying. A Pro plan is available at $5/month and unlocks higher usage limits and additional features as described on the pricing page.

4. Payment & Billing

• Pro subscriptions are billed monthly through LemonSqueezy, our payment processor and merchant of record.
• Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time from the extension settings or by emailing support@kdpscout.com.
• When you cancel, your Pro features remain active until the end of your current billing period — you will not be charged again.

5. No Refunds

We do not offer refunds. A free plan is available so you can evaluate our tools before subscribing to Pro. By subscribing, you acknowledge that you have tested the free version and are satisfied with the product. See our Refund Policy for full details.

6. Acceptable Use

When using KDPScout, you agree NOT to:

• Use the extension for automated scraping or bulk data harvesting beyond ordinary, interactive product research.
• Share your account credentials, resell access, or allow others to use your account.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or underlying algorithms of the extension or service.
• Use the Service to violate any law, Amazon's terms of service, or the rights of any third party.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers, infrastructure, or other users' accounts.

7. Data

To operate the Service we collect your email address, usage data (which features you use and how often), and the list of books you choose to track. We do not collect your Amazon credentials or browsing history outside of pages you actively use the extension on. For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms — including account sharing, abuse, fraudulent payment activity, or any prohibited use described above. You may close your account at any time from the extension settings; on termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

9. Disclaimers

• KDPScout is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Amazon. Amazon and Kindle Direct Publishing are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc.
• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.
• Data, sales estimates, BSR figures, and revenue projections shown in KDPScout are approximations based on publicly available information and third-party data sources (such as Keepa). They are not financial, investment, or business advice, and actual results will vary. You are solely responsible for your publishing decisions.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KDPScout, its owners, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or lost business opportunities — arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify users through the extension or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
